About Dr. Tara
Maternal Mental Health
I am a licensed Clinical Psychologist with over 15 years experience helping people create positive change in their lives. My goal is to help you identify and resolve issues that may be preventing you from getting more of what you want in life. My style is warm and empathic, yet I can be challenging when it is needed in order to achieve growth. I have an eclectic approach to treatment, but tend to draw from relational and cognitive behavioral approaches in order to design a specialized treatment plan based on your unique needs.
My expertise includes mood disorders, depression, addictions, relationships issues, eating disorders, anxiety and panic symptoms. In addition to being a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in the states of Texas, Florida and Illinois, I have completed Level 1 Gottman Training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy and I am a certified Substance Abuse Professional (SAP). I received my M.S. and Psy.D. in clinical psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology in Chicago, Illinois.
In July 2020, the PSYPACT Commission approved my application for the Authority to Practice Interjurisdictional Teletherapy (APIT). This allows me to practice teletherapy under the authority of PSYPACT in PSYPACT participating states. These states include Arizona, Colorado, Delaware, District of Columbia, Georgia, Illinois, Missouri, Nebraska, New Hampshire, Nevada, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Texas, Utah and Virginia. Alabama becomes effective June 1, 2021 and Kentucky July 1, 2021.
